DUI Consent to Urine Test...Can courts request hospital records if Urine test can not determine amount ?
My sister had a DUI. In our city the breathalyzers have been banned because it was discovered that they were malfunctioning (threw out 18 cases because of this) She stated that she had 2 drinks and was very capable of driving. She got into a slight accident (side swiped a car) who's at fault don't kinow yet. There was really no damage she kept driving to the next corner where unfortunately someone driving with no insurance ran into the back of her! She got out to discuss the matter asking to exchange insurance info. The police locked her up immediately she didn't get a chance to get the guy's information but he was completely wrong. She took a urine and she does not do drugs at all. I hear urines are unreliable. But anyway she went to the hospital and she went to sleep after giving them a urine sample as well. Woke up with an IV in her arm. Are they allowed to give her an IV. Did they draw her blood through the IV or just give her fluids ? We're going to get her medical records today. She said the Nurse told her they did not draw her blood but she isn't sure
