Why is the insurance for my car damaged not being covered?

Firstly...what type of insurance do you have?...it sounds as though its third party fire and theft, in which case without her coming forward you wouldnt be covered as your damage would be claimed from her insurance...her being the third party...did you have any witnesses?...if so give the details to your insurer, but its unlikely anything will be done unless you have a reg number ect so your insurer can trace her.
