Blood in stool, can you help?

I am noticing blood along with my stool after going to the restroom. The blood is not mixed into the stool, but it comes out along with it (it is usually bright red). Sometimes the blood squirts out in a stream as I bear down.Also, I see dark red fragments that accompany it, I can't tell whether its skin from inside or coagulated blood.Other symptoms are, stinging sensations in my intestinal area. I thought the blood was there cause I was taking too much aspirin.I have a Dr.'s appt. on the 6th of the month. I saved the fragment in a ziplock bag and put in fridge so I can take it in, has anyone ever had this prob.?
