My dog Maggie, bit me and it became a bump and it swelled up. Read for details? PLEASE HELP ME!?

I was taking a random paper from the ground and Maggie came up and bit me and I swiped my hand away and let go of the paper. Shes one of the sweetest puppies I've had, she wasn't chewing on it, and she just bit me. She torn off some skin, no bleeding though. I washed it with soap and put first aid kit spray on it. I put her in time out and I smacked her gently on her muzzle. I also cleaned up the paper. Anyways, the bite rised up and it swelled up and it became bumpy around the bite. Is this bad? No stupid answers or negative comments please, if you do, I will report for abuse. Thanks. If any questions I will be checking on and off and I will answer your questions.
