Why When peeing . . .?

My friend has just said that she has had something for the last week and a half. She says when she pees towards the very end of the pee it burns/stings, also the need to pee is very sudden n urgent. She has has water infections before but this different. Was going to google it but it will probably say she is dying, personally I think she needs to stop speculating and go doctor, but she is worried so thought of asking on here first.
